Meeting Minutes

Saturday April 19th 2008

The meeting was convened at 10:00 am.

I was hoping that there would of been a few more members at the meeting but I new that a few of you couldn't make it because of other obligations.

Dave Holvick opened the meeting with a blessing for those present and those not.

1) I told those present that we have a new corporate sponsor, EDELBROCK. How the sponsorship works is simple. Because of the amount of monies given over the past 25 to 30 years EDELBROCK doesn't just giver away parts any more, what the do is we call in the parts needed and then they give us DEALER COST on the parts. What that means is, the parts that you see in Jeg's or Summit's catalogs is not the price we will pay, the price we pay will be 33% to 50% depending on the cost of that part less.

2) I announced that we have 2 new media sponsors. A media sponsor is a radio station or newspaper who trades out advertising. What we are going to do is trade out advertising on our brochures, fliers, t-shirts and website for public service announcements or PSA's as they are called, possible live remotes and radio spots.

Our 2 new partners are, KKLH the Cave 104.7 in Springfield and Hometown radio KRZK 106.5 and KOMC 100.1 In Branson.

3) I mentioned that Jeff K and Billy B gave me the idea that we really should start charging dues for the club. Our club doesn't exist on air, we need funds because there are items that we need to purchase every once in a while like paper and ink for printing fliers and brochures, the cost of the website and such. I have been paying all of these costs out of my own pocket so far and it is getting expensive for me. In fact because of a few members not paying for the shop dues for April yet I have had to put in an extra $150.

So we took a vote and it was voted in unanimously that we start charging $10 per month for members over the age of 15. And if you want a vested interest in the shop it will be an extra $10 per month making the total $20 per month.

4) Mickey's cruz-in is this coming Saturday the 26th. All member volunteers need to be at Mickey's at 4pm so we can go over what needs to be done. I have also taken down t-shirt sizes for those members who are going to be there.

5) Forsyth car show. Billy B said that he needed the club volunteers to be at the show at the Forsyth School at 7am on Saturday the 17th of May. And he wanted everyone to bring their car to the cruise on May 16th at Powersite park at 5:30 pm. it doesn't matter what your car looks like he just wants more than 8 or 9 cars there.

6) I spoke about the car Rally that we are putting together on July 19th. I mentioned that the radio partners are going to see about getting some more sponsors to help out with the event. Billy B brought up about having some of the cars sponsored. We all agreed that that would be a good idea.

7) I talked about the possibility of a car show in August on the 23rd. We don't have all of the details worked out as of yet but we are going to do basically the same set up as the Forsyth car show.

8) I mentioned that I did an interview last week with Josh from the Taney County Times/Branson Daily Independent. The article was supposed to be in last weeks paper but because of the flooding we were put back a week.

9) Billy B mentioned that he spoke with the guy who owns Sonny's Welding in Forsyth and that he might possibly want to join the club.

If I missed anything please let me know and I will fix it, I already know that Daniel is looking at this and will tell me what I missed. After all, if Shellie isn't there he then becomes my memory.
