Meeting Minutes January 6th 2008
The meeting was convened at 5:15 so we could make sure that everyone that was coming would be there. In attendance were: Tim and Olivia MacAlistaire, Nat Oawster (President), Philip Uildriks (Vice President), Shellie Harris (Treasurer/Secretary) and myself Paul Williams (Chairman of the Board). Those not in attendance but with an excuse were: Cory Kurbow, Daniel Oawster, Kevin Warriner, Alfonso Parada. Those not in attendance: Mike Antinorri, Quentin Schwanke, Preston Baughman, Jason Houseman.
Old Items Discussed: 1) Paul Williams showed the attending members the new brochures, membership applications, sponsor level sheets and sponsorship applications. 2) The club in general discussed about having 1 cruiz-in a month at our sponsor Mickey's - a taste of Chicago restaurant in Branson West starting on or about the second or 3rd Saturday in April 2008 and continuing till Oct. or Nov. 2008, we will check and see that our dates do not interfere with the cruiz-ins held at Cruisin USA Ice Cream in Nixa. Nat said that he possibly had a band to play at the event, Nat will get with the band member he knows and tell him the starting date to see if it will fit with their schedule, if not we will play music over a speaker system hooked up to a laptop. 3) Nat discussed that he was going to speak to the owner of Ozark International Raceway and see if we can sponsor their once a month event called the midnight drags held on 1 Friday night a month till Oct.
New items Discussed: 1) Paul Williams discussed how the club was going to get it's (501c3) Not For Profit status by first applying to the state of Missouri and becoming a Not For Profit corporation and then applying to the I.R.S. and getting a tax exempt status from them. The initial cost for the not for profit status would be $25.00. 2) Paul showed his idea for our temporary t-shirts for the club, the cost including the iron-on stencil would be close to $5.00 per shirt. Tim brought up that we should check Hobby Lobby or a store like that to see if they had better shirt transfers and better quality shirts for the transfers. Tim also mentioned to get a more professional look for the club that we should have Polo style shirts with the club name on the back and a small logo or personal name on the front. Paul mentioned that he found a site to get shirts for as low as $1.89 and clear transfer sheets for $.79 each. Paul also found out that to have silk screened shirts the set up fee would be $12.00 per color screen. Paul mentioned the we (the club) could have a company make up a screen just for the club logo and we can make transfers for the sponsors names, in case we have to keep making screens as we add new sponsors the cost could become astronomical for the club to make shirts. 3)Tim mentioned to get hold of a company and see what the cost of getting advertising pens would be. 4) Nat will speak to coke about becoming a sponsor. Tim will speak to Tim Robotham our other sponsor at Sadies about the same thing. 5) At the next meeting we will see if Daniel has Jubilee as a new sponsor. 6) Phil and Paul are going to check on line about the cost of hats and jackets for the club. 7) On Phil's next day off he and Paul are going to Mickey's to get the sponsorship contract completed and collect the sponsorship funds, head on down to Ball and Prier tire to see if they might sponsor, stop and see Mike Lively at Lively Signz and Designz who was a sponsor of Gen. II and see if he would sponsor again. Nat is going to talk to the owners of BB muffler and see if they will sponsor. Tim is going to the detail shop in mount Branson and see if they will sponsor. 8) The next meeting will be held on February 17th 2008 at 5pm. |
